• Cardiac arrest claims the lives of over 450,00 people every year. That's one life lost every two minutes.

• In a city the size of Los Gatos, more than 25 people die every year from cardiac arrest.

• Survival rate is only 5% and has not improved in 30 years.

• Twice the number of women die every year from cardiac arrest and heart related diseases than from all types of cancer combined.

Counting Blessings

Caralee Weich - AutoPulse SurvivorOn March 20, 2004, Caralee Weich suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. She was without a pulse for almost 30 minutes. Doctors, firemen, paramedics and medical professionals all agree her survival and 100% recovery is a true miracle.

There are many heroes who came to her immediate aid, but without the use of a new CPR device called the AutoPulse™ Non-invasive Cardiac Support Pump, she would not be with us today.

The Counting Blessings Group, founded by the Weich family, held a fundraiser on June 5, 2005. With the support of friends, family, and the community, the event raised over $50,000. Four AutoPulse devices were purchased for the Los Gatos and Saratoga Fire Departments and are in use on the units today.

The Counting Blessings Group would like to thank everyone who generously made a donation or attended the event.

For more information or to make a tax deductible donation, please contact Shannon Weich.

"Caralee has completely recovered neurologically and I'm very grateful and credit the AutoPulse for playing a large part in that."
—Dr. Arthur Chin, cardiologist (who treated Caralee in the ICU)

The Counting Blessings Group graciously thanks David Stonesifer and Larry Arzie as well as its sponsors for their support.
